“Your journey with us does not end here, it evolves.” The Chancellor, Prof. Paul Musili Wambua, to the class of 2025 at the University’s tenth graduation.

A decade, counted
12 September 2025, under the theme “Celebrating a Decade of Excellence: Transforming Lives, Shaping Futures”.
Who led it
Ms. Faith Joy Aoko graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and was recognised as Best Female Student and Overall Best Graduating Student for the class of 2025. She received the 2025 University of Embu Chancellor’s Award for Academic Excellence and delivered the valedictory speech. Mr. Mbuthia Kelvin was recognised as Best Male Student.
The guest speaker was H.E. Dr. Roberto Natali, the Italian Ambassador to Kenya, who told the graduands that the day was “not the finish line” but the start of a longer journey, and urged them to remain lifelong learners.
The Chancellor asked the new alumni to stay involved, contributing to the University’s growth through their feedback, engagement and support. That request is the reason this page exists.
Three things graduates are asked to do
New programmes are developed through consultation with employers, professional bodies, alumni and government agencies. Alumni are named as a standing source of insight on emerging careers and industry needs.
Clubs, societies and departmental programmes run mentorship, leadership and career development. Graduates in the field are the people best placed to run them.
The University Endowment Fund supported 959 students in one cycle. It is the most direct way a graduate can keep someone else in class.
Note for the Registrar and Corporate Affairs. The University has ten graduating cohorts and no alumni presence online: no association page, no way for a graduate to update their details, no tracer study results published, and no alumni directory. This page is built entirely from graduation coverage in The Flashlight, Issue No. 14, because that is the only alumni record the estate holds. The Chancellor asked graduates to stay connected; at present the University offers them nowhere to do it.
